I want to tell you about a cultural festival I went to last month. Before I went, I attended a short webinar about the traditions. The webinar gave useful tips for what to expect. It also warned about crowds and local customs. When I arrived, the street was full. I had to dodge past three different groups of people to reach the parade route. Later I had to dodge a stray bicycle too. The main parade brought a strong feeling of euphoria. That sense of euphoria stayed with me all evening. Suddenly a lash of rain cooled everyone. Later there was another lash of wind that made umbrellas turn inside out. The organisers showed great tenacity. Their tenacity helped them rearrange stalls quickly after the showers. I admired that tenacity. There were drummers, dancers, and a small puppet show. There was also a cooking stall that smelled amazing. I felt a little nervous before the final performance. But the applause and euphoria removed that worry. I remember one woman who seemed ready to lash out at a rude spectator, but she chose calm instead. Overall the festival was lively and friendly. I hope to join the next webinar about workshops. It will be useful. I will return next year.
