Policyholder: Hi, I need to report a small accident. My backpack got a singe from a stove while I was in a hostel.
Insurance Agent: I am sorry to hear that. We do accept accidental damage claims. Could you describe the singe and when it happened?
Policyholder: It was a tiny singe on the strap yesterday. I made profuse notes and took photos right away.
Insurance Agent: Good. We need profuse documentation for any damage claim. Photos, receipts, and a short statement help us.
Policyholder: One thing worries me. I saw an agent online offering to handle claims for a fee. Is that legit?
Insurance Agent: Be careful. There are bogus intermediaries out there. A bogus agent might ask for payment and do nothing.
