Ms. Carter (Teacher): Good afternoon, Mr Ahmed. This is Ms Carter from Brookside Primary. Mr. Ahmed (Parent): Hello, Ms Carter. I'm well, thanks. How is Maya doing? Ms. Carter (Teacher): Maya is fine. She made a curious utterance in class today about the old park. Mr. Ahmed (Parent): An utterance? She talks about the park at home too. She said it should be beatified. Ms. Carter (Teacher): Yes, we want pupils to propose ideas to beatify the playground and restore the fountain. Mr. Ahmed (Parent): That sounds great. Does the plan include any curative planting or quiet areas? Ms. Carter (Teacher): Absolutely. We discussed a curative garden, with herbs and seating to support wellbeing. Mr. Ahmed (Parent): I like the curative idea. In my family we read about a small socialist co-op that ran community plots. Ms. Carter (Teacher): We mentioned cooperative principles too, not as politics, but as a socialist-rooted model for shared work. Mr. Ahmed (Parent): That could help families in penury get access to fresh food and activities. Ms. Carter (Teacher): Exactly. Penury affects some of our pupils' energy and attendance, so community help matters. Mr. Ahmed (Parent): When is the meeting? I heard next Friday, but the newsletter said Saturday morning. Ms. Carter (Teacher): The meeting is on Saturday at ten. We also have an after-school club twice a week for the project. Mr. Ahmed (Parent): Maya will be eager. Her single spoken utterance about planting was very specific. Ms. Carter (Teacher): Please come. Your input on how to beatify the area or set up the curative beds would help.
