Putaran 5

Dengar ulang tanpa subtitle

📝 Transkrip Dialog IELTS Speaking

Immigration Officer: Good morning. Border control. Passport and customs form, please. Traveler: Good morning. Here you are. I'm visiting my maternal aunt in Toronto for two weeks. Immigration Officer: Thank you. I see your return ticket shows ten days. Are you staying two weeks or ten days? Traveler: Oh, I booked two weeks but my flight back changed and now it's ten days. My maternal aunt used to live in Vancouver, by the way. Immigration Officer: Right. Purpose is family visit, understood. How many bags are you bringing? Traveler: Two pieces of luggage, one small backpack and one suitcase. I also have a small squash as a gift for her. Immigration Officer: We normally don't allow fresh produce. Did you squash the squash into checked luggage or is it in your carry-on? Traveler: I had to squash it into my backpack to save space, so it's in my carry-on. Immigration Officer: I need to inspect that. Also, please answer a few questions—try to be clear. Your nonverbal signals, like avoiding eye contact, make routine checks necessary. Traveler: I'm sorry. I was nervous because the news looks grim about recent border checks. I didn't mean to seem evasive. Immigration Officer: I understand. We want to quash any uncertainty quickly. Only a court can quash a legal order, but here we can resolve doubts with a short inspection. Traveler: That makes sense. I hope the inspection will quash any suspicion. My aunt is maternal next of kin and will pick me up at the arrivals hall. Immigration Officer: Okay. The bag check is routine. Please place your suitcase on the table. Try to keep nonverbal gestures minimal while we work. Traveler: Sure. Thanks. I noticed the officer's expression was grim when I mentioned fresh fruit. I didn't want to cause trouble.
