Putaran 5

Dengar ulang tanpa subtitle

📝 Transkrip Dialog IELTS Speaking

Every June our town holds the River Light Festival. It started as a small clean-up to remove grimy rubbish from the riverbank. The festival now runs for two days. There is music, food stalls and a raft race on the second day. The raft race is the highlight and many families enter. Local teams build a raft to compete for a three-hundred dollar prize and a small trophy. The governor attends to open the festival and talks about future funding for river work. The governor also promised a short grant for youth clubs that help with the river. The park superintendent, Mr Thomas, coordinates volunteers for the big clean-up before the event. The festival superintendent arranges tents, toilets and extra bins to keep the site tidy. Before the event the river was grimy and it smelled bad, but volunteers cleared much of the waste. There is a cuddle corner for children with a big soft mascot for them to cuddle and rest. Children enjoy the cuddle corner and parents take photos. A group of teenagers made a raft decorated with lights. After the race people set a small raft with lanterns afloat to remember past residents. The superintendent reminded everyone to use soap and put rubbish in bins. Some locals tell a different story and say the festival began as a parade of boats in the 1970s. A flyer once claimed the mayor would arrive on a boat, but the mayor actually came by car. Finally the festival shows how a community can clean a grimy river and celebrate together. People sit close, share blankets and sometimes cuddle while watching the lights.
