Student: I appreciate that. I came straight to the desk to explain, because I wanted to be honest.
Librarian: That helps. For minor stains we often waive a fine if the borrower shows remorse and returns the book promptly.
Student: Good. I will be careful. I feel bad about the book on surgery and I will avoid drinks near books in future.
Librarian: Thank you. Please fill in this damage form while I note the extent. The breeze is keeping the reading room cool today.
