Receptionist: Good morning. City Health Clinic reception. How can I help today? Father: Hi, I have an appointment for my son. He cut his finger on a kitchen knife yesterday. Receptionist: Oh dear. Is it deep? We have an assortment of dressings at the nurse's station. Father: It's small but it bled a lot. I put a plaster on, but I want the nurse to check. Receptionist: Right. Do you have the appointment time? Our system shows ten thirty. Father: I thought it was ten forty-five, but I might be mistaken. Receptionist: No problem. Please take a seat in waiting room two. We also have an assortment of leaflets about child safety. Father: Thank you. Also, he's just started to crawl, so I worry about sharp things like a small knife on the floor. Receptionist: Yes, when babies crawl they find everything. It's best to omit small objects from lower surfaces. Father: That makes sense. There's also advice about food. Should I add small decorations or garnish to his meals to encourage eating? Receptionist: You can use a simple garnish to make food attractive, but omit anything with tiny, hard pieces that could be a choking risk. Father: Good. About the cut, will you clean it and put a proper dressing from that assortment you mentioned? Receptionist: Yes, the nurse will clean the wound and choose a dressing. We keep different sizes and an antiseptic in the kit. Father: Is there a charge for this visit? Someone told me the clinic charges a small fee. Receptionist: For this check the service is free for children. You can mention any concerns when you see the nurse in room two. Father: Thanks. I'll wait. I will also remind myself to put knives out of reach so he won't crawl near them again.
